The Story of Calderbraes, by Gordon McCorkindale

This full history of the club is an absolute must read.  Every season detailed, from the past right through to the present, it is an account of the life of times of Calderbraes boys club by the man who knew it best, Gordon McCorkindale. (Derek Scoular, in sad circumstances, picks up the story where Gordon left off.)

Gordon always said that Calderbraes was like a relay race - you did the best that you could and hoped that when you came to the end of your leg, you passed the baton onto someone else who would run the next part, hopefully with as much effort had you had ran yours.  Unfortunately Gordon never got to see anyone else run their leg of the race, as he died suddenly in the summer of 2005, still firmly holding the baton.

Hopefully the club will build on the foundations that he and others around him laid down and go from strength to strength, giving our all in a race that, with a bit of luck, still has a fair bit to go yet.

This history that he helped create is told here and is dedicated to the men, women and boys who have served Calderbraes.

To everyone else that has helped bring us to where we are today, we thank you.
